The Process (Poem by Vinh Nguyen)

Just another poem I’d written thus far.  Enjoy!

Everybody, young and old,
eventually, embraces the darkness,
where the void would greet,
with an eternity which would last,
to when nobody would know,
till now nobody has ever awoken,
from a forever last eternity,
to tell the tale of the forgottens.

Why bother with the fear of the darkness,
when one could enjoy the light to the fullest,
while one can breath in the delight of everything,
so one can feel the wakefulness of every fiber,
this is when one knows it doesn’t matter,
when such a day one has to be greeted by a void,
where light would go out forever,
because one has already been shone upon by light.

When It Starts To Crack (Poem by Vinh Nguyen)

Just another poem I’d written thus far.  Enjoy!

Something is so shiny and translucent,
brittling to the point of shattering,
yet holding together so tightly, so glittery,
brightly so in creating some reflections,
sometimes it rather lets things to shine through,
uncompromisingly proving to be glittery still,
a ceiling of this could not be shattered,
hanging too tightly together as tough as steels,
as the sunlight slips through the silky mass,
splashing a golden surface among the shadows,
though it is glittery and slippery and shatter-easy,
it’s a unit of strength which stands among the giants,
only when the components within the unit show cracks,
it is when the ugliness begins to grow onto the surface,
breaking away what once was gravity defying act,
which had held the impossible together,
thus the slippery slope begins the sliding path,
down back to earth where worms squirm in all directions,
trying to gnaw into the once smooth glittery surface,
more ugly cracks begin the madness,
pushing the sadness to a new level,
once a mirror, a glass to let sunlight through,
now it is lying, shattering on the damp, darken ground.

Green Men In The Saucers (Poem by Vinh Nguyen)

Just another poem I’d written thus far.  Enjoy!

Out there a little green man,
with a space binocular he probes,
down onto earth he probes,
so he could see what we are up to.

Such imagination we have,
here on earth we hope,
somebody out there in space,
would give us a creep.

So keep on looking up,
into the stars we’re searching,
just for anything would give us the creep,
anything would exorcise our loneliness.

Perhaps we should think again,
maybe we’re just keeping up with the programs,
as machines crank away,
green men warmly smile at their marvels.

Green men don’t even know,
how smart their machines have become,
for now they’re looking for their creators,
so called green men in the saucers.

Will We Survive Post-Humanity?

Will humanity last?  What will happen after humanity?  When humanity is gone, will the world contain only primitive animals and plants only?  Or perhaps, post-humanity will have only robots?  We humans are worrying that Darwinism will eventually wipe out humanity, because smarter robots or whatever would rule the world instead of us.  We fear that when we are no longer at the top of the food chain, we are going to be beaten and eaten by whatever just like how we have done to the animals.  For an example, when the robots got so smart that they would eventually squash the humans like how the humans have been squashing the cockroaches.  Like a bug!

I think the fears that we have had about post-humanity scenarios are the good things, because these fears make us think about things that we would never have thought of before, if ever.  Furthermore, I think if something that is way smarter than us, the whatever should understand the compassion part.  After all, we humans do understand what is compassion, and so we strive out to preserve species, refusing to let them go extinct.  If humans can understand compassion, I sure hope the next species or whatever that would be smarter than us can also understand the importance of having compassion.

I think, nobody knows the future or if there even is a good scenario for a post-humanity, but one truth to be told and we should know too is that nothing lasts forever.  The next top dog species that will come after post-humanity probably will also understand of the truth that is nothing last forever.  Nonetheless, even though we know this, we should not just discard humanity altogether, because humanity is us.  We should strive to improve ourselves till post-humanity.

By now you probably are wondering why I keep on mentioning post-humanity even though there maybe a futuristic scenario in which the robots would rule the world but the humans are going to exist anyway, because the robots are so smart that they would understand what is compassion.  Even if this scenario will exist in the future, I must have to admit that it’s post-humanity scenario, because this very scenario would hold a truth in which humanity is no longer at the very top of the food chain.  Robot compassion post-humanity scenario would be good regardless, because we will continue to carry on the existence of humanity.  Nonetheless, we can never know what will happen after post-humanity, because we cannot see the future.  We can only hope that we will be able to exist long after post-humanity.  After all, we should strive to preserve our species at all costs.

Ordinary Day For Everyone (Poem by Vinh Nguyen)

Just another poem I’d written thus far.  Enjoy!!!

How an ordinary day it could be,
beyond that tree,
tumbling hills rolled freely.

A little creek whispered in hymns,
critters quenched their thirst on a whim,
a breeze rhythmically strolled through the realm.

Without rain or thunder to scare away the residents,
a boring day continued on without a special attendant,
here lay a cave where a sleeping dragon has been a resident.

A warrior in heavy armor, shield, and a sharpest blade,
creeping slowly within the shades,
onward to a cave as he readied for a fate.

Nearing the cave, breathless warrior’s thoughts ran high.
Am I doing this for everyone’s hide?
Am I doing this for my own pride?

Thousands of years a dragon was asleep,
one brave fool warrior just woke a dragon up from his sleep,
in a flash, fire raged out toward the cave’s opening and onto the creep.

Arming to the teeth, the warrior withstood the fire’s rage,
but he could not muster up his own rage to meet his destined fate,
yelling from his lung, he screamed “I’m doing this for everyone’s fate.”

Dashing toward the dragon with the sharpest blade and shield,
his emotion went numb, he was readied to kill,
suddenly he heard the dragon said, “hold back your heels.”

Dragon’s sudden talkative tactic unnerved the warrior,
nonetheless, he charged on for a pride of a warrior,
“I’m doing this for everyone,” he roared as a warrior.

The dragon bled out a river of blood,
but the warrior got drowned in the blood flood,
a bloody mess it was, but the dragon still stood.

Another slow breeze rhythmically strolled through the realm,
a little creek by the cave whispered a hymn,
critters quenched their thirst on a whim.

Perhaps, on another ordinary day,
another fool would try to prey,
a sleeping dragon that would sleep away.

Without Moral, War Cannot Be Won, Peace Cannot Be Upheld

I’m a nobody, but I do have an opinion on how important morality is in a time of peace and war.  In peacetime, a country with moral on her side will be able to spread, influent, and expand soft power throughout the world.  In wartime, a country can use moral to rally allies and hearts to strengthen her war agendas.  In my opinion, moral is super important for a country to uphold as you never know in time of need the only thing a country can fall back onto for support and strength is the morality.

With right moral values that do not appear to be having hidden agendas, a country can use her moral values to push for an agenda on a world stage.  Nonetheless, forcefully pushing for an agenda in a way that it seems to utilizing a country’s moral values for blackmailing another would render her moral values almost ineffective.  In the short run, it would seem to work, but in the longer run she would find out that her earlier efforts have been waning and losing fast.

In wartime, moral values can glue disparate ideas and forces into a united front.  Unity in strength and efforts in wartime is super important, because without this everything would not be able to move forward in time of need.  Without unity, there would be no hope left for fighting against an enemy.  Without hope, there won’t be another fight.  Thus, it’s important that moral values are being upheld at the highest esteem in wartime.

When a government sets up a propaganda machine, her purpose is clear.  She is trying to unite minds in one direction for a purpose that she wants to achieve.  In general, she wants to convince her population that her side holds all the right moral values.  Propaganda is complex, but the purpose of propagandizing is rather clear.  It’s to convince and make belief.  Nonetheless, in the long run, propaganda would fail terribly if the government does not hold moral values that people at large would hold dear to their hearts.  After all, there is always someone else who would want to pick apart the propaganda plot.

Even in a single battle, the side with the moral values that worth to die for may enable soldiers in such a battle to fight with all their mights.  Perhaps, with such a purpose or purposes, these soldiers may actually allow her side to gain an upper hand in wartime even when this very single battle is lost.  This shows how important moral values are for peace and war.

In summary, I think moral values that do matter to people are the ones that would encourage people in peacetime and win war in wartime.  Without the moral values that do matter to the people, propaganda would work for awhile until the illusion breaks apart.  Without the right morals, a country cannot win hearts and minds.  Simply put, moral is super important for a country to not only win hearts and minds, but to also build and upkeep her freedom.  A freedom in which allowing her regime to last much longer than otherwise.
