Predictions of A Near Future: A More Connected World, Less Racist, And More Prosperous

As countries around the world are trying harder to modernize and become more prosperous, the modernity will no longer be something the developed countries can keep secret.  As developing countries get wealthier, the more money these countries got to expand operations of all sorts.  Thus, the demands for a more connected world will become even more urgent.  I think any country which decides to shut-out the world as we’re moving into the future would become a perfect case study of how not understanding the real trend which could lead to a disaster on a national scale.

So, I mentioned that the urgency for a more connected world is very real, but why is it the case?

For an example, China is growing ever stronger and bigger, and historically no other country could achieve China’s scale of rapid growth in term of economic prowess in a short duration in history.  Furthermore, China can no longer depend only on a few big countries to supply Chinese economic thirst, and so China is planning to expand economic operations across the world through Belt Road initiative, going abroad strategy, building up Africa while extracting African minerals, and so forth.  Only through opening China’s economic doors wider, the Chinese could make their economy more resilient.

To achieve of opening up economic doors for more connectivity from outside-in and inside-out, the Chinese government is probably going to encourage the world to be even more connected.  In this way, the flow of money can fuel and keep the Chinese economy growing.  As the world is ever more connected and as long the Chinese production prowess is humming along strongly, China can export goods without slowing down too much.  As the Chinese people are getting wealthier, they are going to splurge their wealth abroad and at home, further fueling the flow of money within the connected world.

I think China understands that by helping developing poor neighbors and farther away countries, China can grow friends, respect, and business opportunities.  Wealthy friends can always have real money to splurge on your goods.  This will keep China’s export market strong.  Besides exporting goods, China is modernizing other branches such as technology, science, military, culture and so forth to keep China strong and China’s economy healthy.

Somewhat long, but China is one of a very good case to explain why the world is still going to be very connected, and this will probably be the case for a foreseeable future.  Not only China, but other developing countries are racing ahead to develop one’s own country, and so our future is all about being more connected to create more opportunities and more of sharing experiences for learning and advancing and innovating.

In such a world, supremacy is going to be a very hard thing to achieve.  It will be a much more competitive world.  Thus I predict that our future will be either very competitive or very lazy — because automation will out-compete humans, but this is another story within the whole mix all together.

I think we will continue to see big, powerful countries such as China, United States, Russia, and so forth dictate terms to the world in our competitive, hard to achieve supremacy future.  Nonetheless, these powerful countries won’t be able to supremely dictate terms in an ultimatum manner easily as we’re moving forward into the future.  More countries are going to be more prosperous, and so their demands and ambitions will grow too.  These countries won’t easily be swayed by supreme might, and these countries can try to play nice with China and Russia to fend off the United States’ aggressiveness or vice versa.

In a more connected world, I think it’s supremely stupid for any single entity to try to declare something as we’re supreme!  I predict China won’t announce to the world that they’re the baddest and strongest, but instead we will see a China which will use actions to demonstrate power while silently signaling that they’re the baddest and strongest.  So, in a way, I think China will try to achieve supreme without becoming a Hitler.  Thus, China will try to win more friends instead of invading them.

If you have heard something about the Chinese history, then you probably have heard of a tributary system that sometimes worked rather well for the ancient Chinese dynasties.  This tributary system might make a comeback.  Because, if the modern China becomes the baddest of us all, China might just as well modernize some of the features within a tributary system to achieve the Chinese futuristic ambitions.  I think the Chinese love to look back into what worked well within the Chinese, and non-Chinese histories to guide their ways toward the unknown future.  Thus, I don’t think China will repeat Hitler’s mistakes.

Through Belt Road Initiative, China will build more friends and grow a modern tributary system in the long run.  I don’t think the soon to be baddest China will declare supremacy but will try to encourage a more connected world to respect a stronger China.  A more connected world means any entity which tries to declare supremacy and go solo will face a very strong headwind.  Also, any entity which tries to look inward and ignore the connected world all together will face backwardness and isolation.

In a very connected world, the rest will rise, and any single entity which tries to use racism as a fuel for strength will face the utter destruction.  By this I mean a connected world will have a near zero tolerance for racism.  So, I think as the world gets ever more connected, whatever movement that promotes racism will become the next Hitler and will face a certain doom.  In a more connected world, racism will become the ideal of the cavemen.

I could be wrong about everything because in Hitler time the world had gotten to be quite connected and yet Hitler was able to use supreme ideology to recruit believers and enlarge his army.  If I’m not wrong Hitler believed in a pure race (i.e., his race), and he encouraged his army to eradicate Jewish people/faith.  In Hitler time, people got cars, radios, television, cruises, airplanes, telephones, and other modernities.  Thus, Hitler’s time was also a very connected world.  Still, as I mentioned previously, Hitler was able to promote racism and genocidal practices.

Basically, the future is very unpredictable, but I like to believe in facts.  The facts tell me that the second Hitler won’t have an easier time than the first to go to promote and achieve supremacy.  The facts tell me that racism would be an unwise thing to be promoted in the future.  Whoever practices racism will find only doom in the future!  Facts tell me that not everyone will be the winner of a future, but many will become ever more prosperous, that is if we know how to not let automation/AI ruins us all and use automation/AI as only the tool and not as our master.

Do You Like Hyper Reality?

Check out an awesome video on how hyper reality could become something in which we all will hook into in the near future.  Of course, it’s possible for us to not hook into such augmented reality at all, because we have a choice of not wearing such accessories that allow hyper reality activities.  All bets are off if they come up with implants that would allow you to easily install and remove from your body.  It would be funny that even in your sleep they bombard you with annoying ads.  Anyhow, check out the hyper reality in the video right after the break.

Loop, One Small Step For A Game, One Giant Hope For Humankind

One of my dreams is about exploring a programming system in which the holographic slash virtuality artificial intelligence system would become my assistant.  This assistant would be out of sight and out of mind but in your face when I got stuck.  One example would be assembling a futuristic software that could model all possible events that got high probability of becoming facts.  Such an ambition would be out of my league for sure, and so there is no way I would know where to start.  Nonetheless, the out of sight out of mind but in your face assistant would come to my rescue.

The AI suggested me to play with the event models that it had magically conjured up into my vision.  Wearing a stylish futuristic glasses, I could see all of these holographic models appeared out of the thin air, but these models looked hyper realistic.  In fact, the AI messed with my senses and allowed me to feel, smell, and touch the virtual models as if the virtual things I played with got more realness than the real things.

Playing around with the models for a bit, I got nowhere.  The AI suggested that it could just assemble the models for me the way I would imagine it.  I told the AI that I needed a system with intuitive user interface that could allow normal people to interact with when the need for calculating future events arises.  Furthermore, I told the AI that the system needed to be accurate enough for real world tests such as calculating the probability of how many disasters would occur within three months.  This way, I could shorten the testing time for the system.

While during the whole programming process, the AI walked me through various event models that could fit into a puzzle.  Furthermore, as I played with the models, the AI suggested to me various ways that I could skin a cat and arrive at the end of the tunnel whence the light would reveal to me a first draft of so called a futuristic crystal ball.  Within couple hours, I got a first rough draft of the crystal ball system.  I would imagine that it could take couple hundreds, if not couple thousands people’s concerted efforts to carry out my very feat.

So called first rough draft had already allowed me twiddling by as tons of data got smashed together by the crystal ball system.  The data were collected and fetched into the system by my AI assistant of course.  The AI did what I told it to in plain English or Vietnamese or whatever language I could speak to it.  The crystal ball system was hard at work in predicting the next three months’ disasters.  Actually, it was like I only had to waste thirty seconds or so before the crystal ball system spitted out the disasters in a timeline in which I would be on the lookout for the accuracy of it all.  Whatever disasters that could occur in the world within the upcoming three months time frame got projected into my vision.

I had predicted the future, and all it took me just thirty seconds or so to do so, minus the couple hours that I had to program the crystal ball system.

Back onto earth, my feet are now firming with the real ground.  I don’t see this will happen anytime soon.  Because, this kind of technology exists only in my imagination.  For now, at least there is a virtual reality game, Loop, which allows you to deconstruct the game itself with virtual things in motion.  Kind of how I have had imagined my future AI/programming system would be, but the sad thing is that Loop is only a game.  In the end, you cannot really use Loop to devise a real world application.  In my imaginative case, it’s a crystal ball.

Loop got one good thing going for it is that it’s more real than my imaginative AI slash programming system.  Anyway, before you check what on earth is Loop about in the video right after the break, I just want to emphasize that I hope the future programmers won’t speak of coding in programming languages, because programming languages would be so outdated.  Instead of speaking of programming languages, regular people of the future might just only have to interact with an AI and some holographic models for whipping up some futuristic software.  Enjoy the video right after the break!

China Blazes Ahead In Genetic And Clone Engineering

Once upon a time, cloning was a fairy tale, a fiction in which we lied to ourselves so we could sound fancy and futuristic.  Nowadays, cloning is no longer a fiction but fact, but our current mindsets have been pushing back against human cloning at the very least.  We have outdone ourselves even more since then, because now we have the technology to manipulate genes.  In Europe and America, the governments may have tighter regulations over what sciences can be experimenting with, but in China they have less regulations in this regard.  Thus, in the video right after the break, the subjects within are about how China is encouraging their scientists and the likes to explore the controversial realms of science — according to the West — and these are cloning, genetic engineering, and so much more.

Personally, I think genetically engineering a clone living being is to maximizing the potential of a living being.  Nonetheless, genes are not the only things that could influence the growth potential of a living being, because environment factors do play equally important roles as genes.  This is why we have seen some smart human beings got stupid history records, because their environmental history had affected their past and possibly future decisions.

You can genetically engineer a super smart person, but his or her prospect won’t be very bright if you put him or her in poverty stricken environment.  This individual would have faced unfavorable environment factors that could affect his or her future.  For an example, he or she may sell drugs to make money, but he or she got pretty good at making a living illegally for he or she got pretty good genes and high IQ.  This is why I don’t think genetic engineering is everything, because genetic engineering is only favorable when it could be maximizing.

If you can’t maximizing a designer baby’s potential, this baby may grow up in a way that his or her history would eventually turn him or her into another Hitler.  You never know!  I can’t stress enough on the importance of the environment, because you may never know how a designer baby would grow up when his or her potential is about balancing between the genes and the environment.

Although I do feel genetically engineering a living being is somewhat risky, but I do admit I can see the potential for such technology.  This technology can improve a living being’s potential as long the living being is being nurtured in a very good environment.  It’s like a smart student who has a very good teacher may turn out to be a very good specialist than otherwise.  I do see genetic engineering a living being technology can potentially encourage society to look down on nature.  What would happen when nature could do a better job than the scientists in engineering a living being?  This is why genetic engineering a living being isn’t a sure thing!

In summary, I don’t have anything against genetic engineering and clone technologies, but I do hope society could see that the universe is much more complex than scientists in a lab, designing a living being.  I think we can copy God, but I don’t think we can outsmart God.  After all, we are living in a fishbowl, and like a fish we would never figure out the real meaning of not being a fish in a fishbowl.  By the way, God could be a force, an energy, a whatever that created our universe, and perhaps each universe has its own God.  Thus, to me God is like a scientific force and not a religious one.  Regardless, what I’m saying is we are a part of this universe, and so to think outside of this universe won’t be so easy.  Thus we should tread carefully when it comes down to add or minus something in which could drastically change our society’s fundamentals and beliefs.

Futuristic Technology: Age Reversal’s Perversions

Yesterday, I’d read an article which mentioned several possible futuristic technologies that might change the world of today.  Unfortunately, I forgot the article’s headline, link, and the author, and so I cannot post the link to this article on this blog post.  I remember one interesting technology in which this article had mentioned is age reversal technology.  I don’t know how science would enable us humans to do this in the future, but the concept is incredibly controversial.

Just imagine if this technology is possible, the implications that could come out of this technology would let loose chaos into our world.  We have been wired into our DNA that as we are growing older, we’re going to die old.  Each new year or birthday is one more year old for us.  No matter if we’re poor or rich, everyone of us has always been subjected to the master of death.  Once death arrives, we have to let go everything that has made who we are while kicking.

If age reversal technology is possible, it means a grandmother who’s 90 year old could become 15 year old again.  Nonetheless, she would still go on living with her 60 year old daughter, 65 year old son, and whatnot.  Does this mean the meaning of from cradle to grave has to be redefined?  The whole fabric of society would be turning upside-down, because we would not be able to tell the differences between our grandmother and our teenage daughters and sons.  Rules and laws that govern the morals of relationship among family members and friends would morph into things of an alien culture.  What if a grandmother wants to become a two year old again?  Will a granddaughter would step up to breastfeed her grandmother?  See how twisted things will be?

In my gut, I don’t think age reversal technology will be possible, but the ancient people could never have imagined what we had already accomplished with our space rockets.  For better or worse, I think our cultures will morph into one big weird alien culture as our cultures grow with time.  Some futuristic technologies such as age reversal, as they come into being, will make us question our moral values and ethics.

Will We Survive Post-Humanity?

Will humanity last?  What will happen after humanity?  When humanity is gone, will the world contain only primitive animals and plants only?  Or perhaps, post-humanity will have only robots?  We humans are worrying that Darwinism will eventually wipe out humanity, because smarter robots or whatever would rule the world instead of us.  We fear that when we are no longer at the top of the food chain, we are going to be beaten and eaten by whatever just like how we have done to the animals.  For an example, when the robots got so smart that they would eventually squash the humans like how the humans have been squashing the cockroaches.  Like a bug!

I think the fears that we have had about post-humanity scenarios are the good things, because these fears make us think about things that we would never have thought of before, if ever.  Furthermore, I think if something that is way smarter than us, the whatever should understand the compassion part.  After all, we humans do understand what is compassion, and so we strive out to preserve species, refusing to let them go extinct.  If humans can understand compassion, I sure hope the next species or whatever that would be smarter than us can also understand the importance of having compassion.

I think, nobody knows the future or if there even is a good scenario for a post-humanity, but one truth to be told and we should know too is that nothing lasts forever.  The next top dog species that will come after post-humanity probably will also understand of the truth that is nothing last forever.  Nonetheless, even though we know this, we should not just discard humanity altogether, because humanity is us.  We should strive to improve ourselves till post-humanity.

By now you probably are wondering why I keep on mentioning post-humanity even though there maybe a futuristic scenario in which the robots would rule the world but the humans are going to exist anyway, because the robots are so smart that they would understand what is compassion.  Even if this scenario will exist in the future, I must have to admit that it’s post-humanity scenario, because this very scenario would hold a truth in which humanity is no longer at the very top of the food chain.  Robot compassion post-humanity scenario would be good regardless, because we will continue to carry on the existence of humanity.  Nonetheless, we can never know what will happen after post-humanity, because we cannot see the future.  We can only hope that we will be able to exist long after post-humanity.  After all, we should strive to preserve our species at all costs.
