Boredom (Poem by Vinh Nguyen)

LOL!  This is my first time trying to write a Haiku.  I think Haiku is difficult, because it’s so limited.  Its form demands first line with five syllables, second line with seven syllables, and the last line with five syllables.  With limited syllables per line, Haiku definitely limits a poet’s descriptive words.  After all, some words might have more than three syllables, thus preventing a poet from using such a word for five syllables lines.  Anyhow, check out my first Haiku right after the break.

  • Boredom, frustration,
  • long life, poverty stricken,
  • a desperation.
