Europe’s Migrant Crisis

The pouring of refugees from war torn countries into the West is creating a lot of angry groups and protests in the West.  Some countries in the West are beginning to refuse more refugees.  Some countries in the West have been refused any refugee from the beginning.  Yet the wars in the Middle East and elsewhere are still raging on.  If more wars are going to break out, we should see even more refugees seek migration toward the West.  How will the West handle even more refugees when the current refugee acceptance level is already intolerable?

By the way, I believe in the etiquette of common sense such as a guest should never rudely wreck a host’s home.  Thus I don’t think it’s right for refugees to refuse to assimilate into a host country, after all such a country is providing aid to the refugees.  Common sense also tells me that a host country should either accept the refugees with care or not accept any refugee, because doing anything else would just be egregiously inhuman.  Of course, the refugees should follow all laws and rules of a host country, because refugees should not have any crazy advantage and illegal leeway over regular citizens of the host country.  I think the host country should declare clear rules and regulations in accepting refugees and then enforce such means in decisive, humane and lawful manners.  By doing the right things right, we can bring peace toward all sides.  Sometimes though, it’s better to not do anything at all so an uglier mess won’t be forming.

Meanwhile, extremists who are using religions to brainwash people are only fueling more hatreds around the world.  In my opinion, if a religion which promotes killing and forcefully coerce people into a belief is not a real religion, more like a devil worship cult.  The things a legitimate religion should cherish most are love, compassion, peace, and relative moral values that fit with time.  Also, a religion should have no business in politics and government.

With science, a religion should be open minded about the advances of humankind.  When a religion makes science as an enemy, it’s when a religion is really sliding backward into time.  Such a religion isn’t belonging to the future of humankind, because progress of humankind should be the ultimate priority.  Only progress could we eventually save ourselves from true extinction.  We don’t want to become just like the dinosaurs who went extinct forever, because their fossils are the strongest warnings to us all.  Of course, nothing can outlast time, and so we can’t delude ourselves in believing that humankind will be forever lasted, but at least progress can stretch out the timeline of true extinction.  Without progress and in a nuclear age, I think we are setting ourselves up for hell on earth.  Thus, we don’t need more problems such as violent religions that coerce people into a belief.  What we need is more humankind progress in general — such as science and humankind civilities.

In my opinion, when a religion starts to coerce somebody into a belief, it’s when such a religion should be demoted to a dangerous cult.  We humans are not robots, because we have a brain to think.  We should be able to question a belief without being killed or persecuted in any harmful way.  As long we don’t go around and coerce people into our own belief, we should be able to question any belief in peaceful manner.  A civilization cannot be called a civilization when people are harming each other for one’s own belief.

I can only see more dead people walking when fake religions promote love through killing and hatreds.  Religion goes wrong can only fuel even more wars in this “already madly in love with wars” world.  Without further ado, check out the videos right after the break to see how the West has been coping with inundation of refugees.

A Prose On Why Idolizing Is Good

As I read an article on how “Nepal’s Largest Stone Buddha At 12,600 Feet” got built and then I read the comments, I couldn’t help but feel that people are repeating same old mantra and not thinking for themselves.  One comment suggests that instead of building such a statue, the money should go to the poor instead.  I totally understand the good intention of such a comment, but it’s a narrow minded thinking and missing the big picture altogether.  Of course, at Buddha’s time, he said you should not idolize him and focus on his teaching instead.  Nonetheless, we’re not living in a time in which his holiness is alive, and so it’s so misleading to think that a Buddhist tradition can carry on without idolizing him in a physical form through arts and sculptures.  After all, his teaching doesn’t come out of thin air.  Without the peaceful fanatics (not the violent ones of course) who idolizing him, I don’t think his teaching can be spread far and wide.  Although we all know moderation is best, but I don’t think the making/worshiping a Buddha statue is sinful.  A narrow minded person could seek out a path where he/she could choose to not remember and respect the Buddha himself through idolizing him, and he or she could pray and hope his holiness trace would disappear along with his peaceful teaching altogether.  Sure, it might not change the world in any way of shape or form if this to happen, but his teaching is one of the peaceful ways and to go without such a knowledge the world may be missing out on something really good.  Not everyone can inherit a strong self in moments of helplessness in everyday life, and so his holiness teaching could always lift such a spirit out of despair through such terrible times.  I think people should not spit out mantra as if they’re a saint themselves, because if you’re a Buddhist you should care not if someone else is idolizing him in a peaceful manner, and instead you should focus on his timeless teaching.  Somebody got money to make a statue of his holiness, it’s their business and not yours.  If you got money to help the poor, you could always do it yourself instead of preaching.  This idea can also be applied to Christianity and other peaceful religions.  I’m not recommending anyone to idolizing a cult’s figure and go crazy on normal folks, because the whole idea is to worship and idolize a peaceful deity and in this way peace can exist among our brethren and sistren.

Without Moral, War Cannot Be Won, Peace Cannot Be Upheld

I’m a nobody, but I do have an opinion on how important morality is in a time of peace and war.  In peacetime, a country with moral on her side will be able to spread, influent, and expand soft power throughout the world.  In wartime, a country can use moral to rally allies and hearts to strengthen her war agendas.  In my opinion, moral is super important for a country to uphold as you never know in time of need the only thing a country can fall back onto for support and strength is the morality.

With right moral values that do not appear to be having hidden agendas, a country can use her moral values to push for an agenda on a world stage.  Nonetheless, forcefully pushing for an agenda in a way that it seems to utilizing a country’s moral values for blackmailing another would render her moral values almost ineffective.  In the short run, it would seem to work, but in the longer run she would find out that her earlier efforts have been waning and losing fast.

In wartime, moral values can glue disparate ideas and forces into a united front.  Unity in strength and efforts in wartime is super important, because without this everything would not be able to move forward in time of need.  Without unity, there would be no hope left for fighting against an enemy.  Without hope, there won’t be another fight.  Thus, it’s important that moral values are being upheld at the highest esteem in wartime.

When a government sets up a propaganda machine, her purpose is clear.  She is trying to unite minds in one direction for a purpose that she wants to achieve.  In general, she wants to convince her population that her side holds all the right moral values.  Propaganda is complex, but the purpose of propagandizing is rather clear.  It’s to convince and make belief.  Nonetheless, in the long run, propaganda would fail terribly if the government does not hold moral values that people at large would hold dear to their hearts.  After all, there is always someone else who would want to pick apart the propaganda plot.

Even in a single battle, the side with the moral values that worth to die for may enable soldiers in such a battle to fight with all their mights.  Perhaps, with such a purpose or purposes, these soldiers may actually allow her side to gain an upper hand in wartime even when this very single battle is lost.  This shows how important moral values are for peace and war.

In summary, I think moral values that do matter to people are the ones that would encourage people in peacetime and win war in wartime.  Without the moral values that do matter to the people, propaganda would work for awhile until the illusion breaks apart.  Without the right morals, a country cannot win hearts and minds.  Simply put, moral is super important for a country to not only win hearts and minds, but to also build and upkeep her freedom.  A freedom in which allowing her regime to last much longer than otherwise.

Are We Living In A Warring States Period?

As the world becomes evermore connected, it begins to look like the historic dramas.  One of those historic dramas came easily to me was the Warring States period in ancient China.  Chaos was broken out for as long as two hundred and fifty something years, and many ancient folks were slain by the God of war (i.e., meaning deaths in wartime).  Nations in ancient China’s Warring States period were keened to spy and create wedges between each other for their nations were so connected through trades and wars.  Instead of finding peace for two hundred and fifty something years, through intimate connectivity they fought to the deaths for that long.  In the end, the ruler of Quin, who became the first emperor of unified ancient China, was able to provide peace for most parts throughout the Warring States as these states became a unified ancient China.  Nonetheless, China first emperor Shihuang-di ruled ancient unified China with absolute terror through his dictatorship style, and so right after his death his successors failed to retain a unified China, leading to the breakup of his dynasty and allowing the rise of Han dynasty.

The intricacies of the ancient connected Warring States in ancient China is somewhat reminding us how the world can be so connected today and yet peace is nowhere in sight, whatsoever.  In Ukraine, we have rebels versus the new government, dividing Ukraine up.  In the Middle East, ISIS is rising but their advance is temporary being stopped by U.S.A.’s bombings and whatnot.  Syria is still struggling with its rebels of many factions.  Protests have broken out throughout the world, one in Hong Kong, another in Ferguson, MO, and so forth.  Afghanistan and Egypt are not doing too well, and Afghanistan is like a fail state.  Ebola is spreading in Africa and slowly making its way toward the West.  Russia and United States are planning to be in each other’s way as much as possible, and each country is throwing out sanctions at the other country without much care for the consequences that will play out in the near future.

For an example, Russia is ordering France’s warships, but United States is against this and so France is capitulating between delivering and not delivering to Russia the ordered warships.  Russia is knowing quite well that it can build the warships if it wants to, but to drive the wedge between United States and France Russia decides to go ahead and pushing France to deliver the warships.  Meanwhile, Russia is carrying out an engagement with China so the wedding between the two countries may have a brighter future, thus Russia is signing all sorts of contracts with China, to the benefits of whom we may never know.  As Russia and China become ever closer, United States will have to face the possibility of losing even more influences throughout the world’s International Order.  Why?  China is the largest trading country in the world, surpassing the United States already; China demands whoever wants to do trade with China needs to swap Yuan and not of Dollar.  This could mean the Dollar’s world influence begins to wane slowly.  Meanwhile, Russia is also one of the largest energy trading countries which demands others to trade not in Dollar whenever it’s possible, and this further the waning of the Dollar’s world influence.

Russia is dangerous to the United States as this country can persuade other energy trading countries to begin to move away from using Dollar for trade and reserve accounts.  The eroding of the Dollar’s world influence will be hard on the United States in a big way.  The United States needs to print money to help the economy from sliding back into the atmosphere of 2009 (i.e., financial crisis of 2009), but if the Dollar is no longer valuable throughout the world the United States may have to pay a hefty premium on the interests that derive from the foreign borrowings.  Why?  Countries around the world may fear the inflation train in the United States cannot be stopped and the hyperinflation would kick in, thus devaluing the Dollar to the point of worthlessness.  If this situation to occur in a time that China and Russia are encouraging the world to use other currencies and not of Dollar, the United States may not be able to use the Dollar as a currency to barter and trade for whatever with the rest of the world.  Thus, printing more Dollar can only become pointless.  If the United States finds itself in such a situation, borrowing foreign countries’ money to help rebuild the economy within might not be wise as the interest rates would go through the roof.

Of course, if the United States has a vibrant economy with strong industrial base sectors such as manufacturing to back the economy up when hard time hits folks in the gut, then the United States can fair whatever weather quite well, regardless of how China and Russia want to move away from the Dollar.  Nonetheless, the United States doesn’t have much in term of manufacturing since manufacturing jobs and productions have been moving to other countries for awhile already.  Whether manufacturing jobs are moving to India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and whatnot, I doubt that the United States can stop the trend of seeing manufacturing jobs from leaving the United States.  After all, the world is evermore connected, thus capitalism is fully functioning and working hard as always, providing greener pastures for cows to graze such as cheaper labor market, higher profit environment, less taxing environment and so on…

Since United States is not a weak country for the last 100 years or so if I’m not really wrong on the historic time quantity there, thus the United States still has options to turn the tide of favors back home.  Nonetheless, as the United States tries hard to win back the tide of favors, other countries are too hard at work to make sure things are going their ways.  With rising China, angrier Russia, and a worried United States, the world will see a much more chaotic future as these three powerful forces can demand the rest to capitulate in making decisions for a future as a whole.  A future according to whom we may ask though.  As a more connected world, we think we may see a more harmonious future, but instead we may see a more chaotic future, somewhat similarly scripting to one of those historic dramas.

Believing A Religion With Cultist Idealism Is Stupid And Outdated!

I’m not an expert on any religion, and I’m, myself sometimes, swaying within the wind in choosing the one religion as my only faith.  Nonetheless, in my opinion many religions promote brainwashed idealism in the twenty-first century are stupid!  How come?  As science makes advancements, humanity becomes evermore progressive in intelligence and social morals, us humans can reach and touch places that could only be dreamt in the pasts.  For an example, the future is all about space exploration.  When space exploration is possible, stars and planets that represent gods are merely just stars and planets.  Perhaps, those stars and planets will be colonized by us all!

Nowadays, I’m seeing religious people who wage their stupid holy war as the ones who do not accept the future!  Holy war is a relic of the pasts.  In the past, science wasn’t all that active, and so we all thought the earth was flat and the center of the universe.  How wrong were we, right?  Even a blind and ignorant person nowadays can just play a science audio or video on the Internet that explains the inner working of the universe in details.  We know we are not all-knowing about the inner working of our universe, but we know we got many things right!  How ignorant can one be to believe in whichever religion that promotes wars and killings?  Such a religion is more of a work of fiction and cult!  Any religion is to be considered a religion in my mind is not capable of promoting war and killing!

I think a religion is to last for centuries to come, it needs to be progressive and open mind. If a religion is to last just as science and technology will last for centuries to come, a religion must accept that humanity is always going to be progressive.  By this I meant such a religion must morph and change with time.  As science undoubtedly discovers more advancements as time progresses, a religion needs to develop into less of idolatry and superstition and more into teaching moralities.  A religion needs to hone a human’s goodness and not otherwise.  In the end, I think a religion needs to become a teacher and not a killer!  If a religion is to last, it needs to be a great teacher.  A teacher who can teach peace and promote the end of all killings!

World Conflicts Are Not That Simple!

In this day and age, 21st Century to be exact, conflicts around the world are never going to be simple.  Heck, even in the ancient time, the conflicts then were not so simple.  Now, we have so many countries that are doing overlapping business, because there is so called a chain of supply this and that.  For an example, United States imports from China most, China relies on neighbors and far West for technology and raw materials to produce stuffs for United States, and countries such as Australia love to sell energy products to China to support the supply chains in China.  Obviously, the example I mentioned is to be simplistic, because China is not only exporting goods to United States, but China is exporting to the whole world at large.  United States is obviously not only importing from China, but United States is importing from the whole world at large.  Still, the whole world is importing from China most!  The last sentence does implicit a weakness of globalization.  It begs the question what if China’s supply chains are in trouble, what will the implications be for the world’s economics at large.  It’s not so simple to just say that my country will become self sufficient immediately.  Any country can’t just magically wave a wand in the air, and then the technology and infrastructure and various vocations of expertise — that take decades to build — suddenly and magically materialize for whatever production purposes.  The complexity of the world nowadays begs the question that even small conflict can put any country which depends on the world’s economics in a very uncomfortable position, especially in economics sense.

I think one thing people fail to realize is that nuclear factor is even more important as a war deterrent for world peace than ever before.  Although some of us probably have wished that humankind should have never been able to figure out the nuclear technology, thus nuclear would never have existed.  Nonetheless, such wish is rather foolish since nuclear age has been here for a while already.  This is why nuclear weapons have been employed by various countries for deterrent purposes.  Nuclear weapons are not a figment of the imagination for a long time already!!!  Countries that have nuclear weapons know this, thus these countries use nuclear weapons as war deterrent strategic maneuver.  It’s a very effective war deterrent strategy indeed!  With this knowledge, we can see that United States, China, India, Pakistan, Russia, UK, France, Israel, and North Korea cannot be invaded outright.  The big three countries that for sure cannot be invaded outright are United States, China, and Russia.  Why these three countries have the power to fully destabilize the world or prolong the world peace?  Simply put, their military, economic, and world influence mights ensure their power to dictate world order!  Smaller countries, with nuclear technology or not, cannot compete or go head to head with United States, China, and Russia.  Of course, there is always something that is not on people’s mind and yet will be the exception of whatever rigid order.  In today’s world balance, for United States, China, and Russia to go to war against one another, the exceptional culprit behind this global catastrophe would be a psychopath with powerful positions that can manipulate a country’s foreign policy.

Although the big three in the world will not wage war against one another outright, but they can definitely use their smaller allies to wage proxy wars.  This is why we, people with brain, know that small conflicts around the world might not be so simple.  I can safely assume that all conflicts nowadays are a sort of game for the big three to push and pull against one another, and so in the end of the day the winners will always be the big three!  In short term though, the players who gain something in whatever conflict that the big three are manipulating can also be said that they’re the winners, too.  Nonetheless, in the end of the day, they might not be the ultimate winners!  This is why, I think we, the people of the world, should be more informed, open minded, and less judgmental, and only in this way we can see the events that break out around the world with clearer sense.

In conclusion, United States, China, and Russia know they will not benefit in an all out war, but they’re more profitable in term of controlling the events of the world.  This is why I think the ongoing chaos in East and South China seas, Ukraine, and the Middle East are small events that will dictate the world influence of the big three!  In these events, the big three cannot claim their innocent!  Nonetheless, the big three are acting in their own interest, because the big three after all have to lookout for their own people.  It’s just unfortunate that the smaller players in the world stage have to be manipulated by the big three!  Of course, nobody knows how the world map will look like in the future, thus we can never say that the big three we have now will be the big three of 300 years later.  Remember Roman Empire?  Remember how big they were in ancient time?  If I’m not wrong, they’re no longer here since AD 476.  That’s a long time ago.  Let just say that, the big three are not invulnerable, but at the moment and years to come, these are the players that make the world spins.  At the moment, Ukraine crisis is just another event that the big three are positioning themselves for their own future!  Unfortunately, the West and Ukraine itself will have to be manipulated by the big three!  Russia is looking to gain the most in Ukraine crisis, and Russia does have the popular vote as Crimea’s people are voting for Russia.  China is not yet making a hard stand for Ukraine crisis since it’s playing a waiting game.  Meanwhile, United States is anxiously preventing Russia from annexing Crimea.  Who’s right?  Who’s wrong?  It’s hard to tell, because the big three are never innocent!  Nonetheless, I hope after Ukraine crisis, the world will be more peaceful, however Ukraine crisis will turn out to be!  Let’s not see someone is so stupid enough to push for World War III, OK?  As Albert Einstein had said something along this line, he knew we will have to use nuclear weapons in World War III, but he suggested that we might fight with sticks and stones in World War IV.  It’s a long conclusion, I know!
