Futuristic Technology: Age Reversal’s Perversions

Yesterday, I’d read an article which mentioned several possible futuristic technologies that might change the world of today.  Unfortunately, I forgot the article’s headline, link, and the author, and so I cannot post the link to this article on this blog post.  I remember one interesting technology in which this article had mentioned is age reversal technology.  I don’t know how science would enable us humans to do this in the future, but the concept is incredibly controversial.

Just imagine if this technology is possible, the implications that could come out of this technology would let loose chaos into our world.  We have been wired into our DNA that as we are growing older, we’re going to die old.  Each new year or birthday is one more year old for us.  No matter if we’re poor or rich, everyone of us has always been subjected to the master of death.  Once death arrives, we have to let go everything that has made who we are while kicking.

If age reversal technology is possible, it means a grandmother who’s 90 year old could become 15 year old again.  Nonetheless, she would still go on living with her 60 year old daughter, 65 year old son, and whatnot.  Does this mean the meaning of from cradle to grave has to be redefined?  The whole fabric of society would be turning upside-down, because we would not be able to tell the differences between our grandmother and our teenage daughters and sons.  Rules and laws that govern the morals of relationship among family members and friends would morph into things of an alien culture.  What if a grandmother wants to become a two year old again?  Will a granddaughter would step up to breastfeed her grandmother?  See how twisted things will be?

In my gut, I don’t think age reversal technology will be possible, but the ancient people could never have imagined what we had already accomplished with our space rockets.  For better or worse, I think our cultures will morph into one big weird alien culture as our cultures grow with time.  Some futuristic technologies such as age reversal, as they come into being, will make us question our moral values and ethics.

Will We Survive Post-Humanity?

Will humanity last?  What will happen after humanity?  When humanity is gone, will the world contain only primitive animals and plants only?  Or perhaps, post-humanity will have only robots?  We humans are worrying that Darwinism will eventually wipe out humanity, because smarter robots or whatever would rule the world instead of us.  We fear that when we are no longer at the top of the food chain, we are going to be beaten and eaten by whatever just like how we have done to the animals.  For an example, when the robots got so smart that they would eventually squash the humans like how the humans have been squashing the cockroaches.  Like a bug!

I think the fears that we have had about post-humanity scenarios are the good things, because these fears make us think about things that we would never have thought of before, if ever.  Furthermore, I think if something that is way smarter than us, the whatever should understand the compassion part.  After all, we humans do understand what is compassion, and so we strive out to preserve species, refusing to let them go extinct.  If humans can understand compassion, I sure hope the next species or whatever that would be smarter than us can also understand the importance of having compassion.

I think, nobody knows the future or if there even is a good scenario for a post-humanity, but one truth to be told and we should know too is that nothing lasts forever.  The next top dog species that will come after post-humanity probably will also understand of the truth that is nothing last forever.  Nonetheless, even though we know this, we should not just discard humanity altogether, because humanity is us.  We should strive to improve ourselves till post-humanity.

By now you probably are wondering why I keep on mentioning post-humanity even though there maybe a futuristic scenario in which the robots would rule the world but the humans are going to exist anyway, because the robots are so smart that they would understand what is compassion.  Even if this scenario will exist in the future, I must have to admit that it’s post-humanity scenario, because this very scenario would hold a truth in which humanity is no longer at the very top of the food chain.  Robot compassion post-humanity scenario would be good regardless, because we will continue to carry on the existence of humanity.  Nonetheless, we can never know what will happen after post-humanity, because we cannot see the future.  We can only hope that we will be able to exist long after post-humanity.  After all, we should strive to preserve our species at all costs.

Should China and the United States Go To War?

The United States stated she will sail her warships within China’s manmade island’s or islands’ 12 nautical mile, and China openly replied that it would not allow any country to violate its territory.  In coming days, if United States indeed will sail within China’s manmade islands’ 12 nautical mile and if China is indeed going to use force to stop the American warships from entering the area, we may have an uncontrollable situation in which it’s insane just to fathom about the possibility of a situation like this to occur in the first place.  The biggest question is what will happen after if China indeed sinks a ship or two that belong to the United States?  Will the United States go to war with China if such an aftermath would occur?  Who will push the red nuclear button first?  We cannot take China as Iraq, because China got so much more capabilities than Iraq could ever wish for.  China knows United States, although economically weaker by days and months, still has a very strong military and so facing the United States won’t be a walk in the park either.  It just happens that Intelligence Squared Debates program got a debate show in which it asks the debaters to actively debate on the question of “Are China and U.S. long term enemies?”  The video is right after the break.

The long term enemies part the video may get it wrong, because countries don’t look at each other as buddies but potential competitors or pawns or necessary evils or enemies.  It isn’t strange when I stated like that, because it’s true.  Basically, nobody knows how the United States and China will behave toward each other in a much longer term.  Nonetheless, at the present time, United States and China are clearly on the verge of starting a dangerous proposition in which neither country may want to back down, consequently leading to a global war.  If China and United States are at war, the war environment won’t be a vacuum space in which the participants are only China and the United States.  In fact, I believe that a war between these two giants will pull in all sorts of countries that choose sides.  Even a country wants to be neutral in such a scenario may not have a choice to do so, because geographical reason or whatever, one or both giants may want to push such a country into war anyway.

We can have a debate all we want on how long U.S. and China would be enemies, but if someone is crazy enough to think that it’s sensible to have China and United States go to war, we cannot rule out a situation in which nuclear weapons would fall off from the sky in both directions toward both countries.  By the way, Russia is China’s neighbor.  If Russia sees nuclear missiles from the United States heading toward the east, what do you think Russia will do?  If I’m a Russian leader, I would definitely think that the nuclear missiles are heading my way, and so I must reply in kind with my own nuclear missiles.  Meanwhile China too would be in panic and push the red nuclear button.  From my understanding, both China and Russia together have more nuclear weapons than the United States.  It’s not a situation I like to see for sure, because I don’t want to see my life and countless other people lives to be wasted away in seconds for power politics in geopolitical common sense.

In my opinion, geopolitical common sense is opposite from treating thy neighbor the way you want to be treated common sense, because geopolitical common sense is about not having to lose one’s position, power, and so on.  To put it bluntly, nobody wants to be a little guy, because being a king is always better.  A king can have his way, and a little guy will often have to swallow a hurtful pride.  Nonetheless, whenever we include nuclear weapons into the equation, it’s hard for a sane person to think it would be possible for United States and China to go to an all out war.  Perhaps, one side likes to think that such an all out war is insane, and so a controllable war would be possible.  One side may think that at some point, a situation got to a point that nuclear weapons may be used, they could negotiate deals to unwind down the war and nuclear weapons will not be used.  Unfortunately, in a war, I don’t think it’s that easy to control or wish a situation to occur the way we like it.  Thus, we may want to unwind the war down in a war in which nuclear weapons would be used, the enemy may not know our best intention and misread the intention somehow and nuclear weapons would be used anyway.

It’s scary to see the biggest boys on the block with nuclear weapons are about to strangle each other out.  Right after 9/11 of 2001 terrorist attack on World Trade Center’s twin towers in New York, time had become ever more dangerous.  It’s cliche to say that we are living in an interesting time, but I think cliche or not we are actually witnessing a time in which humanity is at risk of losing the sanity of it all.  What is even crazier?  It is that in a time in which I attended middle school, a time in which it was way before 9/11 of 2001, I had read something from a book in which a title I totally have now forgotten, and this something predicted the explosion of a major landmark in New York.  On 9/11 of 2001, I could not believe of what I’d witnessed on that day, and it reminded me a prediction I’d read in a book way back then.  How could a prediction be so true even though prediction is purely a fiction?  In my opinion, prediction is a fiction unless it becomes real.  Today, some people like to use bible prophecy which had been written eons ago to predict a war between China and the United States.  I want to say this, be careful of what you wish for!  A prediction may come true if we believe it and allow it to happen.

Desert Jungle, Not A Narrow Minded Narrative

Why humans are different than animals?  We have something that the animals may never be able to learn, if ever.  One word, adaptability!  We humans are very adaptable.  Even if the sun would disappear from the sky, us humans maybe able to live on with mere things that never need to see the sunlight.  Sure, it might be an exaggeration, but the exaggeration does fit the narrative which depicts our adaptability.  We have shown over and over again that we humans are the only true domineer of this planet earth so far.  Thus, whenever I heard a narrative of why a mold of society, politics, or whatever doesn’t fit a group, I would think such a narrative is too narrow minded.

Somewhere on this planet earth, people are living in conditions that are unimaginable to many of us.  Nonetheless, they are living on.  Perhaps, they are waiting for something that will work for them.  With a savior, hero, leader, system, or whatever that will come and provide the means for poorest people to come out of their drought, I’m sure they will be as glorious just as people who do not have to worry about living below a poverty line.  Thus, I think it’s not simply one thing and only one thing that will work for only one group, but the picture is relatively more complex.

But don’t let the complex system fools us into thinking that complex theories can solve the most necessary basics that would move humans forward. Without proper basic needs such as foods on the table, clothes for cover, and other basic needs, us humans would die before that savior, hero, leader, system, or whatever could come to the rescue.

In short, with the right condition, a desert can bloom into a full blown jungle.  Somewhere on this planet, people who are living in direst conditions may find themselves a jungle if the right condition would eventually come to their rescue.  In my opinion, it’s not hypocritical to say that us humans are adaptable — when there is no sunlight and humans do need that extra boost under the right climate to find a jungle — because adaptability doesn’t mean to be completely naked.  Thus, when someone is trying to say a group of people will never be able to have something going for them is very narrow minded.  It’s not only about the mold, but it’s about the adaptability.  Nonetheless, adaptability without basic needs will almost be irrelevant.

Peace Is A Fool, And Einstein Is Forever Wise

I’d just written another poetry, and this one is rather gloomy.  I hope whoever reads this won’t mind.

  • Peace could have been the only king in town,
  • but humankind decided chaos should be the alternative,
  • therefore we created swords to kill,
  • therefore we devised tortures to interrogate,
  • therefore we had heroes and villains.
  • Peace could have been the only voice in town,
  • but humankind detested a boring, quiet town,
  • therefore we started small wars to liven up the town,
  • therefore we propagandized to divide brother among brother,
  • therefore we stroke the beast of hatreds.
  • It was fine that peace was challenged by chaos,
  • as men only had stick and stones,
  • whence men got their sharp metal swords,
  • then peace thought that this was hell on earth,
  • men died in droves just so peace would lose the day.
  • Peace lost the grasp of earthly control,
  • and thought that things could not be worse,
  • how wrong could peace have been,
  • as that thought was completely put to shame by devious men,
  • they had abandoned their sharp metal swords for nuclear bombs.
  • Whence men got their sharp metal swords,
  • they did not hesitate to wage war with sharp pointed blades,
  • now they got their nuclear bombs,
  • peace would be naive to think that men would think otherwise,
  • peace would be naive to think men would be logical.
  • Among men there were few wise ones,
  • among wise ones there was Albert Einstein,
  • but he could no longer walk among the livings,
  • nonetheless, he was the father of nuclear bombs,
  • yet he had warned men might go from nuclear to stick and stones.
  • Only the fools would doubt the wise men’s words,
  • therefore I would not doubt Einstein’s sticks and stones prediction,
  • and so you should not too,
  • but peace would be peace,
  • continually be naive for thinking that chaos could be contained in a nuclear age.
  • Whence peace got too comfortable,
  • it was when wars broke out,
  • chaos ran amuck,
  • men died in droves,
  • just so peace would remember how evil chaos was.
  • Fools with name such as Hitler came upon the scene,
  • just to show how wrong peace could be,
  • and yet peace would never learn,
  • continually, naively, went about without a care,
  • to think that chaos was only a conspirator.
  • If chaos was only merely a conspirator,
  • peace would forever be the only king of the town,
  • nonetheless, chaos had proven that peace was merely a fool,
  • to believe the lies chaos spew,
  • it was on you peace, and so chaos ruled.
  • Einstein’s words might be buried among the ruins,
  • but whence men got only sticks and stones,
  • it would be too late to turn back time,
  • for time would not have any patience, ever,
  • time would not wait on peace to rein in chaos.
  • Peace is a fool,
  • and Einstein is forever wise!

We Shall Plant These Humanity Seeds

Just another poetry I had written.  Enjoy!!!

  • In space there is time
  • In time there is space
  • One can never forget the other
  • For that will be strange and weird
  • This time and space won’t have it
  • Then there are countless strangers
  • For one that is gravity
  • For two that is stardust
  • For three as you keep counting
  • Countless strangers come to the party
  • They know they are all party stars
  • So we invite them all
  • To join a humankind exploration
  • A kind that explores
  • That vast loneliness
  • Existing just to exist
  • Existing just to mock
  • Mocking time and space and else
  • The stretching of nothingness
  • Mimicking what hell we like to imagine
  • Yet in nothingness there are wonders
  • They sprinkle themselves throughout
  • Mocking that irony of nothingness
  • With light that brightens everyone’s day
  • With wonders that awe us into infinity
  • We agree and nod
  • On the surface the illusion has it
  • Nothing could live out there
  • Nonetheless, here we are
  • Nonetheless, there they are
  • We got stars that shine bright to blind
  • We got a star that keeps on giving warmth
  • The warmth that heats up our lifeblood
  • So we be studious while having fun
  • Let learn and let live
  • We take note of them
  • So one day we will
  • We will the will to be this tiny frog
  • That leaps out of a tall well
  • To learn what is out there
  • We dare to dream what we want
  • We say we go to Mars
  • Although Mars does not know us
  • We call it Mars as if we’d always knew it
  • Mars we shall go to
  • From Mars we shall look back
  • To view a beautiful marble
  • A marble with earthly colored senses
  • It’s white and blue
  • It’s something else
  • Extremely beautiful it is
  • Although we might never know its beauty
  • Till we leave its nest
  • Suddenly we know then
  • We have missed it much
  • We shall stand on Mars
  • Sing and dance our earthly songs
  • Light up an earthly fire
  • Yet we will breathe in Mars
  • Let Mars be Mars
  • We shall have a new beginning
  • One among the many
  • Not to set out to plant a flag
  • Just so we can brag
  • It’s me not you who knows Mars first
  • Instead of anything we are
  • We shall go far
  • Not to brag but to learn
  • Not to brag but to explore
  • Spreading the humankind seeds
  • We spread these seeds far
  • To all corners of our mysterious space
  • To all corners of our forever resilient time
  • Gravity will forever present
  • Nonetheless, we shall defy it
  • As long as we humans live
  • We shall defy gravity
  • So we not to brag but to live
  • Living to explore and plant
  • We shall plant these humanity seeds
