PC gamers know that each game behaves differently on their PC, because each game might need a different configuration for game graphics settings.  Using the wrong game graphics settings sometimes might actually choke the graphic card, therefore choking a great game experience.  Usually, PC gamers would do is to figure out if their graphic card supports a game they want to play or not before they purchase the game.  Afterward, they want to seek out the correct game graphics settings for the game from the Internet or from testing out different game graphics settings configurations through trial and error process, and then right just before they play their brand new game they would apply the best or I should say the optimal graphics settings for the game.

The second process where gamers have to apply the correct game graphics settings can be ranged from easy to sometimes plain confusing.  How come?  Some games might work well with just about any game graphics settings if you have the right graphic card, but some games might not.  When a game might not react that well to your graphic card or game graphics settings, you have to either tinker with the graphic card by overclocking or know how to tone down the game graphics settings.  So, getting an optimal game graphics settings for each game can sometimes be troublesome and time consuming.  This is why I like GeForce Experience.  You might like it too if you have a NVIDIA graphic card.

What GeForce Experience does is to automatically optimize game graphics settings for many games that you have installed on your PC.  It’s a beta version at we speak, but it’s working out rather well for my PC and PC gaming experience.  Check out the video right after the break to have a quick look at the GeForce Experience.

What About PhotoFunia? (Windows 8 Mobile and Desktop App)

0

Not comparable to famous photo editing software such as Lightroom, but it’s obvious that there is a reason why PhotoFunia isn’t supposed to compete with such famous photo editing software.  Instead of being extensive and capable of editing photos, PhotoFunia is just a fun Windows 8 photo app which has a lot preset effects.  You basically just choose a photo which to use with the effects within PhotoFunia, and before you know it you have a cool, neat looking photo that looks very different than before.  So, in a way, it’s fun and neat, but it’s far from being a photo editing software.  Also, the new photo which PhotoFunia dishes out doesn’t retain the same high quality of the original photo, therefore it’s definitely just a fun little app.  Nonetheless, it does have many cool preset effects, and so you should check it out to see how fun it is.  Before you try it out, you can watch the video right after the break to see couple demonstrations of PhotoFunia.  Enjoy!!!

Should Custom White Balance Be Unnecessary When Shooting In RAW?

1

When taking pictures with a DSLR camera, you can totally preset a white balance to give your pictures a uniquely distinctive look.  Nonetheless, with nowadays photo editing software on the rise, although the good ones such as Adobe Lightroom 4 are too expensive for many people, it’s totally possible to change the white balance of photos without using custom white balance (i.e., preset white balance).  Of course, you have to shoot photos in raw to have effectively change your white balance, because only in raw format you won’t lose important details when photos go under major change (i.e., major editing).  Still, I think I like the idea of taking great photos first before editing great photos after, because when great photos get to be edited — we can either enhance it even better or make it worse and the former which is definitely the goal.  So, by presetting or doing a custom white balance from the get go is definitely an ideal in my opinion.  Also, going through a custom white balance method at least once, one gets to know how white balance works a little better; this might help one improves post processing process in regarding to doing white balance in photo editing software.  This is why I don’t think it’s unnecessary to do custom white balance beforehand even though one shoots in raw format.  Anyhow, you should check out the YouTube video I found (i.e., not mine but I found on YouTube) as this video will be an excellent guide in regarding to doing custom white balance.  Enjoy!!!
