Thought Of The Day: Would People Look Back And Laugh At Themselves For Spending So Much On So Little Data?

As I pondered on the thought of having to see people paid tens of dollars for couple hundred megabytes a month on wireless data, a chuckle came out of me.  I wondered, would these same people look back in the future and laugh that they had paid so much for so little data?  Perhaps, the ongoing trend would be so perverted to a point that it could be a lot more expensive for the same people to consume the same amount of data in the future.  For certain, it would be utterly sad to see less network activities and more boredoms when people in the future might not be able to afford to spend on data.

Such a thought saddened me, but WiGig gave me hope!  Knowing WiGig existed, there might be hope in our network horizon for that day would come where wasting data would be a bliss.  Connecting at extreme speed through wireless network without a care would definitely push for not so boring digital world.  Of course, it might be more volatile and chaotic and dangerous, but it might also be creative and interesting and interconnected.  I could not see myself in a boring digital world, because I might prefer to be either not knowing there was such a thing at all or having to see more of whatever that would drive the digital world into its own state of bliss.

You Like Imaginary Phone?

Why need to have your smartphone out in plain sight when you can remember all of  its features on the palm of your hand as if you’re a chess savant who could remember all the chess pieces’ positions during a blindfold chess game, right?  Wrong, I think it’s rather silly!  It’s cool that the technology exists just to prove humans are innovative, but this very innovation can only make you look silly.

Why?  Carrying a smartphone so one could hide it inside a pocket and use imaginary smartphone on a palm to prove one’s super muscle memory capability or plain memory tells me that carrying a smartphone in itself is a redundancy.  On the other hand, if they can forgo the smartphone altogether and squeeze all that power into a cool fashionable glasses, it won’t be so silly.  Even a famous celebrity who has to do crazy hand gestures to open emails on a red carpet day and in front of dozens of cameras using a smartphone glasses, it probably be OK and cool and fashionable and futuristic.

Why?  Because we know there is no need to carry a redundant physical smartphone in pocket so we could prove our might in muscle memory capability.  In fact, one knows that the smartphone glasses won’t be so invisible if one wears it; all that 3D visuals and what not will all appear virtually in front of the wearer.  Let hope the glasses/invisible smartphone will bear fruit, and I have to say no thanks to the invisible smartphone/palm.

Tablets May Change The Face Of The Tomorrow Computing

A little light bulb gets hot and glows within my head which tells me that iPad 2 will make everyone in the industry, relatively nervous!  How?  iPad 2 can prove even more of what the original iPad has already done so that a simple to use but attractive tablet can change the face of tomorrow computing!  Who wants a bulky laptop or desktop when you can carry a thinnest and smallest device around that rivals in power but exceeds in style and convenience?  A crucial market for iPad 2 is gaming!  If gaming on iPad 2 can be done as elegant as on gaming laptop, then I can see the day of laptop and desktop be over or drastically reducing in numbers.

Why gaming?  Gaming is the last sentry for laptop and desktop since I doubt iPad 2 is yet as powerful as a special design gaming laptop and desktop.  Obviously, I don’t even have to compare iPad 2 with gaming console, because iPad 2 isn’t designed for gaming and does not have the hardware to be a hardcore gaming machine.  Also, hardcore gaming will consume huge amount of power — there goes the battery life — as the graphic card has to be quite powerful, but leisure gaming can do just fine with iPad 2.  This is why I think iPad 2 won’t be the tablet that changes the face of the tomorrow computing.  Still, we have all the time in the world to create a tablet that will change the face of the tomorrow computing!

Sure, iPad 2 and soon to be desired tablets can be formidable against other computing devices, but besides features and options and style, what else can tablets such as iPad 2 do to make everyone in the industry, relatively nervous?  The answer is probably about all things digital!  In addition to the sexiness of the tablets such as iPad 2, everyday people’s behaviors such as insatiable hunger for styling with an iPad 2 or whatever the next big thing — some of that and the former are the ingredients that form a recipe so powerful to a point that everyone in the industry is relatively nervous for they have to formulate a domination plan.

Anyone who has an interest in selling digital books (i.e., ebooks), digital songs, applications, and anything else that is all things digital — has to be concerned about a brand’s influence over the digital market!  Tablets such as iPad 2 will drive such an influence big way!  Very big way!  If Microsoft fails to enter the tablet market, their OS Windows 7 may be a relic of tomorrow.  They have to come up with a tablet OS that could dominate the new computing environment (i.e., tablets) the way they have had with traditional computing for so long.  Don’t you see Google and Amazon and so many others are trying to replicate iPad 2 experience, because they all know who dominates the tablet market will somewhat consider to be the company of the future or actually will be the company of the future.
