Diaspora Project Is A Threat To Facebook?

I’ve a feeling that Diaspora project may destroy Facebook completely and the rest of what we’ve came to know about the concept of a social network, but I’ve been wrong many times before.  Don’t worry, a concept of a social network will not be destroyed, but only be enhanced for the sake of privacy – a social network revolution!  The concept for Diaspora is quite neat I’ve to say!  From watching Diaspora’s video blog, I surmise they’re creating a software, and someday you may use the fully functional version of it to run your very own Facebook!  It’s more than that, it’s like a fully encrypted social node with firewall and malware detection capabilities, and it can communicate with any other social node on the cyberspace at your commands, and the commands will be your only!

Even though it’s a big if, what I’m saying or surmising what the folks at Diaspora are up to, and if I’m correct on this, it means the future for social network will never be the same.  Why don’t we try to imagine that there are billions Mark Zuckerberg out there downloading Diaspora for free, running the software on their computer systems and home networks, and they’re the one who’ll be calling the shots as to what types of compatible social nodes have the ability to communicate with their Diaspora nodes.

Hopefully the interface for Diaspora will be easy as pushing a button here and there!  Any average Joe can fire up a personal social network, leave it on for however long, or turn it off, and the information can only be shared with the permission of a node’s owner.  A new kind of social networks which has better quality in controlling the flow of privacy and information.

From what I’ve heard that Diaspora is an open source project, and if it’s true, any Joe out there who is pretty good at programming can download Diaspora and configure it to one’s taste — a custom social network with a lot of flair.  It will be flashy!  Diaspora will be readied for you soon, late this year I think!  OK, enough with my surmises, why don’t you check out a video below, and hear what the geniuses behind the Diaspora project have to say.  Source.

Intel's New Chip Technology Allows Data Transfer Rate At 50 Gigabits Per Second

How fast is your Internet connection?  Compare that to Intel’s new invention and soon to be a new innovation!  So what is it?  Intel has discovered a way to transfer data at 50 gigabits per second.  The current technology is only allowing up to 12 gigabits per second data transfer rate at maximum.  To hit the 50 gigabits per second rate, Intel creates a new type of chip that can convert photons into electricity using more channels in one chip.  The medium for transferring data using the new chip technology is still going to be over fiber optic cables.  According from source, as long Intel improves the technology of the new chip, it may be able to transfer 1 terabit per second in the future; 1 terabit per second equals to something as transferring entire printed collection of the Library of Congress in 1.5 minutes.  Source: Venturebeat.com’s “Intel demos chips that can transfer an HD movie in 1 second.”

Apple's Competitors Turn On The Volume About The iPhone 4's Defects

Many investors and iPhone users think Apple will not be affected by the plethora of news about iPhone 4′s defective antenna.  Think again!  The smart phone market is a very competitive one.  Everybody will try to take down the leader of the market.  Unfortunately for Apple, right when Apple has all the trust from its fans, the defective antenna infects many iPhone 4(s) to a very visible degree.

Powerful competitor such as Motorola and Google use Droid X to combat iPhone 4(s) shrinking popularity.  From this blog post, it appears Motorola has an ad out that is subtly making fun of iPhone 4 by saying Droid X doesn’t need a jacket!  How about the news of  Mark Zuckerberg has picked up an Android smart phone as a replacement for his iPhone?  Other people complain how they experience weak signals or no signal from AT&T network when they’re using iPhone(s).  Combining the complaints about the AT&T data network and iPhone 4′s defective antennas, some people may still  have faith in Apple, but many other people may switch to other popular smart phones!

The smart phone market has many players, and each player has all the motives to outsmart everyone else in the smart phone market.  Apple has been in a full defensive mode as it tries to tell its fans that not only iPhone 4 has a defective antenna, but its competitors’ smart phones are also having the same exact problem.  It could be a bad move for Apple and backfire against Apple for making more enemies.  Luckily for Apple, iPad is still going strong and free of problems!  iPad’s still leading the way, but for how long?

The technology market is a volatile market by nature.  To advance the quality of life and create better entertainment and provide answers for curious minds and everything else, new waves of discoveries have often drowned out the old waves of discoveries, and this is why technology is such a volatile market.  Apple has proved that it’s one of the new waves, but for how long?
