An interesting blog post with a title of “Did Steve Jobs Steal The iPad? Genius Inventor Alan Kay Reveals All” claims that iPad is a vision of the past. Back in the day, engineers were thinking of something like an iPad, but it was called as Dynabook. The post claims Steve Jobs isn’t stealing the idea of Dynabook, because the people behind Dynabook knew about what Steve Jobs was intended to do, to compile the best ideas from Dynabook into a marketable form which is iPad. In a way, Steve Jobs can’t claim iPad is his truly innovation, but it’s only an improvement over what could have been something else. The people behind Dynabook weren’t able to produce Dynabook, but their ideas for Dynabook were much different. Nonetheless, their vision for Dynabook was somewhat similar to iPad as both were intended to market as personal computational devices.
