Generating Extra Revenue On The Web, Can One Still Do It And Do It With Style?

Can technology facilitates one’s life for the better in term of extra revenue, and even better when one attains the best of life as automation process works like charm?  One can do it!  What I’m talking about is web technology.  Yes, expect failures when one tries to build a killer web application, web service, web anything in the beginning; things can only get better when one gets it eventually!  Practice makes perfect, the mantra has never went out of date, and one can bet on it!

Briefly pointing out, the web is where the automation process finds right at home.  At first, one has to put tremendous amount of effort into building a web project to get things rolling, but when everything begins to churn like clockwork, one can sit back and put in only a small amount of time and effort to maintain the a web project and its automation process.  One can also increase revenue and productivity to one’s ability and availability by building multiple web projects, but it’s best for one to build one web project at a time and to apply the automation process for all projects.

No one has to quit their real jobs to build a web project, and no one has to do it alone!  The more people involve in one web project together the better!  As long the organization and the leadership and the objectives and the vision are in places, the responsibility of each team’s member can be quite clear and to bring about the success of creating a web project!  It’s easy really, the more people the greater concentration of brain power and the greater momentum for a web project to see the light of day.  Also each individual can take care each specific function in the process of building and maintaining a web project.

Even if one has to go solo on a web project, it’s still very manageable!  Again, one doesn’t have to quit a real job!  It’s best to construct one’s web project at a medium or slow pace to make sure one has done as many right things as one can from the get go.  By doing a deep research and doing the right things from the beginning, at the early stage (the testing and the building processes) and at the debut of  the production stage (the release of a web project and a web project’s ongoing lifespan), a web project won’t easily be falling apart.

Web project isn’t expensive to start since one can do it all by oneself as long one has the patience to learn the nuts and bolts of the required knowledge.  Besides do it all oneself, one can hire freelancers to help out, and hiring a freelancer nowadays for a simple web project isn’t that expensive as long one knows how to differentiate the true cost of a building process.  By that I mean one has to do a research on how to negotiate with a programmer, a web designer, a web content publisher, and so on to get the best price for a work to be done (projects within project, small features within a main web project that need to be created).  Knowing just the right person from countries such as India that has the knowledge to get the work done can be very cost effective, but it’s not a good idea to outsource when a sensitive work is at stake.

Another great way to greatly reduce the workload and free up resources for more important short term goals is to not reinvent the wheel.  For an example, one can use an open source content management software (CMS) for one’s web project, and one only need to modify such CMS to fit one’s taste and vision.  Nonetheless, if one has to create a project from scratch, make sure the idea is unique and innovative.  By not reinventing the wheel, a web project can be built faster than otherwise.

Many web projects’ final stage and the ongoing stage are largely involved with content creation.  One can take a lot of time to create a home brewed content, or one can hire freelance writers to do so.  One can also partner up with content providers, but make sure the contents are useful and have little exposure, and even better if the contents are exclusive for certain groups, or for one individual only.  Make sure to weigh the cost and time between home brewed content and the content from third parties; try both if one can for maximum content output.

Remember, automation is very important.  Automate the server to do certain things such as update software and scripts, update contents dynamically, and much more.  One can sit back to only step in when only manual labor is a must.  One can handle couple web projects through automation with ease, but make sure one had built each project from the ground up, one at a time.  Automating many projects at one time is great for generating extra revenue effectively, and if done right, one can take in a lot of money for being smart on distributing the right amount of effort (as in efficiency).

Automation concept/process doesn’t have to be applied to web projects only, but since we are talking about building web projects, let keep a focus on web projects only!  Nonetheless, one should be able to make use the automation concept/process in many things in life, and get the most out of life — but only use the automation concept/process when it is better than the manual process/labor to free up resources and time.  Time = money right?  Or time could equal to anything one has had in mind.  We can say the same for resources.

In conclusion, people can use technology such as web technology to improve their financial positions, and to use automation as a key to greatly maximize the success of generating extra revenue.  Depending on each individual’s ambition, the web technology can be sophisticated as it can be to generate as much revenue as possible (through the usage of automation and manual labor combination).  It’s also depending on one’s talent, knowledge, persistence, desire, and inspiration to be successful in the usage of web technology.  Failing a lot, one can perfect the art and improve or reach a more perfect vision, but failing forever won’t do any good!  This article leaves out one important element which is marketing, because marketing is a much different art than the things that are being described in this article.  Indeed, web technology can also facilitate marketing to a whole new level, but this topic must be for another day!  Can web marketing be automated?  One can do just that, but again, this topic must be for another day!

Professional Photographers Seeing Pain Through Personal Lens

Professional photographers find it hard to make a living since shooting an image for more money has slowly becoming a rarity.  According to source, magazine companies and newspaper companies are hurting, cutting back on buying professional photos as budgets are tight.  Waves of amateur photographers aren’t annoyed by petty payments that the magazine and newspaper companies have been paying for.  Professional photographers are shun by their buyers for their high fees.

Internet has been paving the way for web journalism which has badly hurt the off the web journalism such as newspapers and magazines.  We can also say Internet is a boon for web photography!  Image is a close cousin of text!  Naturally, images on the web are popular.  Popular images are good, but they’re cheap also!  Due to better camera technology at affordable cost, anyone can grab a decent camera from an electronic store, get on a road trip, snap thousands of images digitally, and upload to websites such as Flickr for a major showcase.  Not one or two amateur photographers are doing so, but millions of them around the world are doing for the fun of it.  According to source, major magazine and newspaper companies suggest that digital photos took by amateur photographers, not all but many of them are hard to distinguish that those weren’t taken by the professional photographers.

Not to mention that nowadays, easy to use software that can be purchased cheaply to pimp up a photo to make it looks like a piece of art that was taken by a professional photographer, are plenty.  Image quality has become trivial, and the quantity of photos is abundant, it’s obvious that professional photographers are seeing their career at risk.  It’s true that professional photographers know how to orchestrate an environment where unique flavor and style could enhance a photo and telling a beautiful story to the eyes of a beholder, but amateur photographers are many more in number than the professional photographers; therefore, out of many lens, there are still abundant amount of artful photos that are unique and beautiful as if the professional photographers were the orchestrators.

Maybe, the professional photographers should use their skill in a much different environment, although with lower fees, they may have it easier than amateur photographers since the knowledge are there.  Amateur photographers may not be persistent enough in capturing a unique art style for certain photos, but many professional photographers are strict in this manner.  Important ceremonies such as wedding are lucrative for professional photographers as amateur photographers may not care about earning money through a camera lens.  In another word, no frequent competition!

I’m no expert in photography, not even close, but I think the professional photography is not a dead career, but its nature has transformed into something radically different.  If the professional photography is dead, let hope the amateur photography already has the qualities of the former, otherwise our tastes for this art have rather becoming very dulled.  It’s not a surprise when technology evolves, industries that rely on such technology have to change even if the uncertainties are great!

Sony Rolls Out Update For Older PS3 To Eliminate Install Other OS Option

It’s often sad to see software and hardware makers ignore the enthusiasts.  In this case it’s Sony!  Sony has decided that the next update or patch, however you call it, will remove the install other OS option from older PS3 that predated the slim PS3 model.  I know many people who love to have Linux as the alternative OS on their PS3s.  I haven’t installed Linux on my PS3 yet, but since this news has came to light, I probably will try soon to see the benefit of not updating is a plus or a negative.  So expect another post from me on this very topic in the near future!

Sony claims that for security reason, it prefers to eliminate the install other OS option.  To my knowledge, the people that know what they’re doing, installing another OS onto PS3 won’t be a security risk!  Only the people that have not a clue of how to secure a computer system, a gaming console, and whatever else can put just about any system at risk!  Secure or not!  I hate to see the install other OS option to go away, but it’s Sony’s business, and so who am I to say!  What do you think?  Source.
