A new social layer that Google is launching for Gmail known as Google Buzz contains some features that you could swear those are on Twitter. To me Google Buzz does make Gmail more social, but do you want to check your email with all that buzzing noises around you? This also a concern for people who have email accounts that are being flooded with spam messages, and even if your friends want to get more social with you on Gmail, their important messages may be drowned out by accident as spam messages cluttering your inbox. Still, you have to hand this to Google for making people connect much better. Before Google Buzz makes headline, Gmail has various features that are no different from social network. For an example, in Gmail you could chat with other Gmail users, update status, and answering email messages in conversation stream. Google Buzz is another layer adds onto Gmail which allows you to follow your friends’ update streams, share photos and videos, and automatically display images from links. Google explains what is Google Buzz in a YouTube video, and you can watch it after the jump!
Want to use Google Buzz from your mobile phone? Google allows you to do this too! Due to the nature of how mobile phones work, to use Google Buzz mobile phone users need to point their phones to buzz.google.com. Just like any other mobile phone application, Google Buzz does look friendly and easy to navigate on mobile phones. Check out the YouTube video which demos Google Buzz for mobile right after the jump!
