Is it right for an ISP to block a website’s web traffic on purpose? If a website is so bad that it should have been taken down by the legal enforcers, then it should have been taken down, but if it’s still up for whatever reason, this means it has the right to be up since it is still in business; this is why I think an ISP should not be meddling with a website’s web traffic, because we have the legal department for that already! Why I brought up this topic? Not because I want to, but it’s because I just read about Verizon is blocking a very busy website but with bad media reputation known as 4chan. What’s worrying all website owners is that Verizon did not contacted 4chan’s webmaster/owner about the block until 4chan’s users were complaining about theirs unable to access 4chan’s website. Verizon later contacted 4chan’s webmaster/owner about the block, but Verizon hasn’t gave any reason of why 4chan’s web traffic is being blocked. Any webmaster should be worried when an ISP has the power to block your web traffic, disturb your business flow, and whatever else without providing any reason. What you think? Source.
