Humanoid Robots To Work Alongside Astronauts In Space
Unmanned drones and aircrafts are beginning replacing some specific jobs within the military, but you could never say no to one day that we may see unmanned wars! With this same idea, I think we might see unmanned spaceships making ways to parts of galaxies and stars. Unmanned space missions were conducted before, but to have unmanned spaceships through the use of intelligent robots for exploring unknown space territories before humans take over seem to be plausible. What is exciting is that instead of using non-intelligent robots to do some of the astronauts’ works but artificial intelligence.
OK, let back up a bit, I’m just saying stuffs that may not come to light at all — but the thought of this is really cool. The inspiration for me to spew out nonsense things due to the fact that I read about humanoid robot creation by GM and NASA. Both institutions team up and create a robot that is a prototype for many more robots to come that could work alongside with astronauts. They call it a Robonaut 2 or as known as R2. For now this prototype has no leg, but it has hands that are capable as human hands so it could work on repetitive stuffs that astronauts have been doing. Like I imagine, alongside astronauts for now, but will we see humanoid astronauts someday? Source.
