Facebook is wisely teaming up with McAFee to provide six month free of antivirus software. After six months, users get to choose to pay for a subscription at a discount price or do nothing about it. Users who do not yet have an antivirus software on the computer and are already infected with viruses, when logging onto Facebook, the social network portal will alert about the infected computers and offer a way to scan and remove the viruses. It’s obvious that Facebook is doing this to promote itself as a safe social network portal but the solution is real; McAFee is providing an excellent solution for Facebook’s users and at the same time expose itself to 350 million users who may want to really use McAFee as an antivirus solution. Maybe we will hear Norton teaming up with another major social network portal soon? Source.
