In our modern time, if you are committing a crime and have a chance to run away to another place that US law enforcements cannot find you, you better stay offline or else you will be found. With that said, I’m not condoning you to become a criminal and then jet like a fugitive, but if you understand sarcasm, my friend, you can join my club. Here is a true story that tells a story of a man who ran to Canada to avoid drug charges, but the authorities who wanted to bring this guy in were persistent. The authorities interviewed his friends, and they came to understand that the man was addicted to an online MMORPG game known as World of Warcraft. Through communication with Blizzard (WOW’s creator), the authorities found out the man’s IP addresses and other information which led to his capture. The man’s name is Alfred Hightower! Now he is probably in jail and missing his World of Warcraft’s character. Source.
