Not long ago, VoiceCentral was banned from iPhone’s App Store, because Apple disliked some of the applications using Google Voice’s APIs that had similar features and functions to iPhone’s core applications — VoiceCentral was caught as one of those. People loved VoiceCentral as it had prettier way to manage Google Voice, and that was one of those times that some iPhone’s users complained loudly.
The developers for VoiceCentral have a new plan though! They are developing a brand new VoiceCentral, but this time it’s not a native iPhone application. Instead of being a native iPhone application, VoiceCentral (the beta version) is now a web application which allows everyone who has iPhone to use it through iPhone’s Safari browser. The beta version will come off beta in 2010.
Although for not being a native iPhone application, it seems the web version of VoiceCentral does cover all the core features of Google Voice. Check out here for a few drawbacks when VoiceCentral is not a native iPhone application. After the jump, you can check out a YouTube demo video for this new version of VoiceCentral which is now called VoiceCentral Black Swan.
Has VoiceCentral Black Swan find a loop hole to Apple’s tight approval for its App Store’s applications? If VoiceCentral Black Swan turns out to be a big hit as its earlier version, it can be a model for App Store’s rejected applications. What a rebel!
