Google’s Online Office Suite May Replace Microsoft Office

From reading here, I think the author of the blog post had pretty much nailed everything down, but I also disagree that Microsoft’s Office will continue to be a victor.  Why?  Microsoft Office is not free!  If Google can keep its promise by greatly enhancing its online office suite and providing the software free of charge to its users, then I think Microsoft will see a powerful competitor for office software.

Everyone knows that Open Office is a really good alternative for Microsoft Office, and it’s free!  Though, Microsoft Office is still king, because Open Office is not yet well known.  Google is a different story, because there is something about Google that makes people want to use Google’s products.

Still, I think FREE means a lot!  Especially nowadays, the economy is not looking great; companies try to cut costs left and right.  Microsoft and Apple who charge their products with crazy prices may one day see people switch to FREE products.  Open Source movement leads to huge Open Source’s communities that provide so many free software that could rival costly software.  Plus, the current and the next generation will have more adept computer users, and they know why FREE, although not really matter, is an excellent alternative to paid software.  It’s the spirit of the Open Source’s communities that is matter!
