The car market is not so nice to the American made cars, but Ford has done much better than most American car-makers. In an attempt to enhance Ford’s image and to boost safety reputation among car-makers, Ford announces that by next year, the company will mass produce rear inflatable seat belts and place these into the next generation Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle. Ford claims that from researches, an inflatable seat belt provides better safety. The claim goes that inflatable seat belt allows the crash force to spread to more areas of the body, and this reduces the concentration of a crash force to one area of the body. Let hope Ford and more car-makers continue to push for better safety — to come up with more futuristic technology in improving the overall safety for car’s users. Source.
