Finland Rules Broadband Connection Is A Legal Right

Finland is a country that has around 5.3 million of people has just announced that by the next July, everyone in Finland will have a right to 1Mb broadband connection.  Though the government is mandating that broadband connection is a right, but it isn’t clear that the broadband connection will be free.  I suspect that this means Finland is ruling that the Internet Service Providers must expand their services to all area of Finland, even in the rural areas, to allow everyone in Finland as in 5.3 million of people or so to have access to the Internet — and this is an absolute.  The government of Finland also has decided that by 2015, they will make 100Mb broadband connection as a legal right.  Head to Wikipedia for a little history lesson on Finland!
