Bombing the moon doesn’t sound like something we should do, but nonetheless that is what NASA will be doing soon! Luckily we don’t have a thing that may push the moon off its orbit or else we will see hell on earth. I hope I know what I’m talking about here, a sensing satellite LCROSS is set to hit the moon at high speed at 6:15 a.m. EDT/3:15 a.m. PDT, Oct. 9. NASA will broadcast this on TV, and webcast will also be available. The reason for hitting the moon at planned and predetermined spot is to confirm the claim of water as in icy form is indeed located on the moon. NASA predicts that the spot known as the crater Cabeus A may have frozen ice resulted from a specific comet that had striked the moon in the past, and to find out if the claim is true by allowing LCROSS to impact Cabeus A at high speed; if frozen ice is there, the impact may shoot the ice upward and break the ice into molecules that can be detected by NASA.
