FCC Wants To Know More About Apple’s Google Voice Rejection
Major companies like AT&T, Apple, Amazon, and so on are actively denying certain applications from third parties to have access to their platforms. The recent uproar about Apple removed Google Voice from its App Store has caught FCC’s attention. FCC sent letters to ATT&T, Apple, and Google to get a clearer picture of this whole uproar. Apple’s fans who are using iPhone are complaining Google Voice is no more in the App Store. Internet goes beserk about this very topic too.
When big companies like Apple and AT&T deny third parties applications on their platforms can hinder a large number of population from accessing new useful software. This also may slow down the advancement of technology since the major companies are the parties that determine which technology they are down with.
Google for being a search company and a huge part of its revenue comes from advertising sees things in the opposite direction. Instead of promoting closed platform, Google hopes and supports the movement of open platform — allows all applications to be on all compatible devices. More applications that have access to Google Adsense in turn will provide additional source of income for Google. Google is definitely wanting to help more application developers generate some money from Adsense — at the same time Google makes a lot money from Adsense.
