Windows 7 is said to be released in mid August of this year. It seems that Windows 7 is fully backward compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista. This means your old software will work with Windows 7 well. It also has a new built-in touch screen capability which allows computer that has touch screen hardware to function.
Microsoft is not hurrying to roll out Windows 7 as it had done with Vista. Vista was not well received when it got introduced to the mass due to its unfriendly security features, and older software incompatibility. This time around it seems that Microsoft is taking its time to make sure user-experience is the ultimate goal.
Since the debut of Vista till now, Microsoft sees its market share for Operating System has fallen big time while its rival Mac from Apple has been gaining ground. Even after years of Vista’s introduction, huge amount of people are still using Windows XP. Microsoft is hoping to regain the OS market share by rolling out its Windows 7 in mid August of this year.
